When people hear the word “digital”, most people think phones, social media, or online streaming. Something being considered digital is much more than just technology. “Digital” refers to how information is created, stored, and shared in a completely different way as digital is efficent for modern complex systems.

Being digital means that everything is turned into data. Instead of physical formats like paper, film, or vinyl records, digital technology converts the information into specific binary codes made up of 1’s and 0’s. From this conversion things like text, images, music and videos are now able to be stored in the same format and processed online and in computers. Being digital makes things much easier and always for advanced communication.
